Nando-iro

A deep, subdued blue dyed with indigo. It was named after the color of the darkness in a nando, the storeroom where bolts of kimono fabric were kept. By the end of the Edo period, it was also used for women's kimono. It is close in hue to Asagi-iro and is a darker color.
