Edomurasaki
#634E86 This purple color was popular in the Edo period and was dyed with purple grass, which was considered a famous grass in Musashino, Edo. It became known to the general public as the color of the hachimaki worn by Sukeroku in the Kabuki play "Juhachiban". It is said, "Edo purple hachimaki and paper are raw. In Shokusanjin's Kyouka, "Salmon, bonito, Daimyo no Yashiki, sardines, baikunis, purple, winter leeks (nebuka), and daikon radish" are considered Edo specialties. It was also called "Ima-purasaki" in opposition to the ancient purple that was popular at the time.
