Japanese apricot

It is a slightly dull reddish brown. It is a duller shade than that associated with chestnuts and plums. It seems to have been popular during the Genbun period of the 8th Shogun Yoshimune in the middle of the Edo period (1603-1868). It was a fashionable color at a time when the crackdown on extravagance became stricter.
