This is a bright yellowish red color. The natural vermilion pigment is called true vermilion, which is famous for being produced in Chenzhou, Hunan Province, China, and was called cinnabar (辰砂). The common vermilion color is not from natural vermilion pigment, but from an artificial pigment refined by mixing mercury and sulfur with raw mercury sulfide ore, and is called silver vermilion. Vermilion is one of the positive colors in the ancient Chinese theory of the five elements. It is the southern direction of Vermilion Bird and Vermilion Bird, and the season is vermilion and summer.
