Rhododendron azalea

The purplish-red color of azalea flowers. It was used in the Heian period (794-1185) and is listed as the first winter color in the Pillow Book. The term "Korean pink" is not often used today, but it refers to a bright pink like azalea color. In Japan, soft pinks like cherry and peach are popular.
