Mizu-asagi

#6B9994

A color name given to a color that could be called neither Asagi-iro nor Mizu-iro. Among indigo-dyed colors, it is considered the next lightest after Kamenozoki. There is a surviving senryu (humorous verse) that says "The boss is a man who has even worn Mizu-asagi," so perhaps prisoners' clothing was Mizu-asagi. Arranging indigo dye color names from lightest to darkest gives Mizu-iro, Kamenozoki, Mizu-asagi, Asagi, Usu-hanada, Asa-hanada, Nando, Ai, Kon, and so on.
