color of forget-me-nots

This is a gentle, slightly purplish blue color like that of the Japanese forget-me-not. The color name was born after the importation of the forget-me-nots during the Meiji period (1868-1912). There is a German legend about the forget-me-not. A young man who went to a small island to get a blue flower for his girlfriend was caught in a swift current, and his last words were "Don't forget me! were. From there, the English name of the flower became forget not me.
