Azuki red
#864944 This dark red color is named after the color of red azuki beans. It seems to be in the middle of the Edo period in the 17th century that azuki color appeared as a color name. It is believed that azuki has the power to ward off evil spirits and evil luck, and was eaten before festivals and at the beginning and end of the "saiki," a period of purifying the body and mind to welcome the gods. It was later transformed into food for the occasion of Hare, such as sekihan and zenzai.
