Moegi-iro

A bright yellowish green like plants that have just sprouted. It is also a color that expresses the joy of nature's life being reborn in the fields and mountains after the withered winter season ends. Young warriors such as Taira no Atsumori (killed in the Battle of Ichi-no-Tani at age 17) and Nasu no Yoichi (who shot down the fan target at age 21) wore armor laced in Moegi-iro and hitatare (a type of robe). This Moegi-iro is also written with characters meaning "sprouting yellow," but it is different from the Moegi-iro written with characters meaning "sprouting green onion."
