Karekusa-iro (color of withered grass)

It is a pale, dull yellowish-brown color like withered grass. In ancient times, it was also called kare-iro. It is reminiscent of the color of one of the seven autumnal flowers, when the tail flowers (thin, Japanese pampas grass) begin to wither (kare-o-bana).
