Ukon-iro

Ukon (turmeric) is a type of ginger native to tropical Asia, and this is the color dyed with the pigment from its rhizome. Even today, turmeric is used to color foods such as takuan (pickled daikon radish) and curry. Turmeric is also effective for sobering up, so it is said that if you drink turmeric powder dissolved in water after drinking alcohol and then go to bed, you are less likely to have a hangover.
